Mustamir Mohamad
Chairman

Mustamir Mohamad is currently the Group Chief Financial Officer of Sime Darby Berhad. He was appointed as a director on 21st November 2017. His current responsibilities include finance, treasury, tax, legal, compliance and risk management. Mustamir holds a degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School in Boston. Mustamir was appointed as Chairman of Sime Darby Lockton Insurance Brokers Sdn Bhd on 3rd January 2023.

Datuk Thomas Leong Yew Hong
Director

Datuk Thomas Leong Yew Hong is currently the Group Chief Strategy Officer of Sime Darby Berhad. He was appointed as director on 1st December 2017. Datuk Thomas is responsible for Sime Darby Berhad’s overall strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business development, corporate finance and investor relations, as well as the Group’s communications and technology functions. Datuk Leong is an alumnus of Harvard Business School. He holds a BSc in Software Engineering degree from Australian National University, and an MBA from University of Sydney. He has also completed executive leadership programmes at INSEAD. He sits on various panels for mentorship programmes and Fintech start-ups.

Warren Merritt
Director

Warren is currently the CEO, Lockton Asia Pacific and a Director of Lockton Companies Australia. He was appointed as director on 1st October 2018. Warren has over 38 years’ experience in the insurance industry, predominantly as a broker and advisor. He has global experience having worked in the Australian, Asian and UK markets in senior advising capacities. His experience and knowledge on alternative risk transfer strategies is extensive and he has delivered innovative, cost saving, finance efficient results for many of the largest organizations in Australia and Asia.

Fariz Hashim
Director

Fariz is currently heading the Group Corporate Finance at Sime Darby Berhad and is primarily responsible for all mergers and acquisitions for the Group. He has over 12 years of experience in investment banking in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, disposals, corporate restructuring, primary and secondary capital market fundraisings through equity and equity-linked debt offerings, in several of the top Malaysian Investment Banks. He is currently a board member of several Sime Darby subsidiaries, including Chubb Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Sime Surveillance Sdn Bhd and Kineta Sdn Bhd. He was appointed as director on 3rd January 2023.

Mohamed Yahya Mohamed Ibrahim
Director

Yahya has well over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has held various senior positions in major international and local insurance brokers with a demonstrated history of managing and delivering solutions for insurance and risk management programs for a broad variety of industry sectors which amongst others include power, oil & gas, petrochemical, construction, property, telecommunication, maritime, aviation and aerospace. Skilled in insurance, reinsurance and marketing, he has managed some of the largest Malaysian corporate insurance and risk management programs.
